PVC profile extrusion starts with material preparation and proceeds through shaping, cooling and cutting.

Material Blending

Carefully selected materials are placed in a mixer and are blended together at high temperatures. The blended material is then transferred to a container and sent to the production line. Monitoring the materials used in production is the first step towards ensuring the quality performance of the completed product.

Material Preparation

Material preparation requirements depend on the selected formulation. Confirm any drying requirements and process settings with the production team.

Extrusion Through the Die

In extrusion, plasticised PVC passes through a die to form a continuous profile. Injection-moulded fittings use a separate manufacturing process.

Process Settings and Dimensional Checks

Extrusion settings are selected for the formulation and profile geometry. Product dimensions are checked against the agreed specification.

Sizing and Cooling

After extrusion, the profile is sized and cooled before cutting. Confirm the cooling method and acceptance criteria for the selected product with the production team.

Cutting to the Required Length

Extruded profiles are cut to the required length. Dimensions and cut quality are checked against the product specification.

Marking Requirements

Confirm any logo, batch identification and marking requirements when agreeing the product specification.

Haul-Off and Cutting

The extruded profile is drawn along the production line and cut to the specified length. Confirm length tolerances and cut requirements for the selected model.

Cut Quality
